Hot Methi Greens Soup/ Bhajji Chaar



Heat a tsp of cooking oil in a heavy bottomed pan, temper with mustard seeds, u.dal and red chillies, saute 2 shallots finely chopped, add chopped methi leaves a bunch, roughly 1 1/2 cups. Add salt to taste. Cook till the greens wilt. Add water, usually the water collected while washing the rice is added, about 1 cup. Add crushed pepper and cumin pdr a tsp of each and a little more of pepper, Cook for another 5  mts. Remove from heat.
Let cool. Freshly squeeze coconut milk with a tsp of poppy seeds added(optional). 
This soup/Chaar has lots of medicinal value. It cures all stomach ailments particularly ulcers. Relish it with hot rice or have it just as a soup.
