GINGER CHUTNEY

GINGER CHUTNEY/ ALLA CHUTNEY:

INGREDIENTS

Ginger - 1 1/2 "
Channa Dal- 2 Tbsp
Ripe wine tomatoes - 2
Red Chillies - 10
Mint leaves -  1 handful
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Coriander leaves - a handful
Oil - 2 tsp

Heat Oil in a pan, saute Channa dal, red chillies,ginger, asafoetida, curry leaves, coriander leaves, tomatoes adding one after the other. Add salt to taste.
Grind to the fine paste.
Temper it with mustard, Urad dal and add the ground chutney. Give it a boil. Transfer it to a serving bowl. 

Goes very well with idli, dosa and curd rice. 

ONION CHUTNEY

ONION CHUTNEY:

INGREDIENTS

Shallots- 10
Channa Dal- 2 Tbsp
Ripe wine tomatoes - 2
Red Chillies - 10
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
Coriander leaves - little
Oil - 2 tsp

Heat Oil in a pan, saute Channa dal, red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves, coriander leaves, shallots, tomatoes adding one after the other. Add salt to taste.
Grind to the fine paste.
Temper it with Mustard oil, Urad dal.
